Favorite Kid Quote of the Day

Yesterday, my friend Grace spent some time helping her daughter with homework. While they were writing, the daughter says: "Mommy, how do you spell dot-com?"

A sign of the times! Hahahaha! Happy Thursday!

Favorite Kid Quote of the Day

I tell ya - kids just CRACK ME UP! My friend Towera shared this with me today...

Preparing 4 dinner... my 5 year old niece sees me marinating "beef." She asks me, "Auntie, what are you doing?" Since I am too tired to think, I tell her, "its chicken..." But before I can correct myself, she responds, "Oh... is that the cow from the chicken?"

Hahaha! What a great laugh for the day!

Favorite Kid Quote of The Day

My friend had a conversation with her 5-year-old daughter, Haillee, today. It went like this:

Haillee asked her mom what a "period" was. Her mom asked her where she heard about it... Haillee said, "You know, mom... when I read!" "Phew!" said Haillee's mom. "...was sure glad I hadn't launched into the OTHER "period" conversation!"

Priceless.

Favorite Kid Quote of The Day

A while ago, I used to babysit an amazing 4-year-old kid named Chase. Over the past week, his attitude wasn't quite the best - he'd been fighting with other students and not doing his schoolwork or participating in activities. So, after picking him up from school one day, I asked him to tell me about his day. Here's the extent of the conversation.

Me: Hey homie! How was school today?
Him: Okay. But I didn't get in trouble today! (as he munches on a peanut butter cracker)
Me: That's awesome!!
Him: You wanna know why? (totally excited)
Me: Sure, buddy!
Him: Because Jason made me upset today and I almost got in trouble, but then I remembered what my mommy read to me last night about loving my friends and so I didn't get upset at Jason and fight or be mean. (all in one breath) And you wanna know something else?
Me: Sure!
Him:
"For if we love one to another, then we will be much happy."

...I couldn't have said it better myself.

Favorite Kid Quote of The Day

This one turned my hectic-not-so-good-rough-day into a smile...

[all in one breath]

"So today was my first day at kindergarten and you know what I did at lunch time? I shared my food with Allison because Allison didn't like anything she was eating, and I said to her, Allison we're gonna be best friends because when I don't want my food, I know you'll share with me too. I like to share because it makes people happy. Thank you Jesus because I just love my heart..."

Favorite Kid Quote of The Day

My friend's 3-year old nephew was talking to his mom, but his mom could not hear him. When she said, "Speak up Benjamin," the 3-year old replied:

"I will not repeat myself. I will speak up so as to be heard!"

Favorite Kid Quote of The Day

Daejah, 5

"Well actually, I didn't want to watch a movie today. I just wanted to read the story of Noah and the animals. I have to know everything about him so I can talk to him when I get to heaven."

Favorite Kid Quote of The Day

My friend's daughter said this to him:

"Since God is my Dad, why do I have to ask you for stuff?"

"Hi auntie Terri! You're so precious. So, what did you do for God today?"
